AR Design Studio Receive Planning Permission for House in Silverlake

Planning has been received for a 5 bedroom home in Dorset!

The site is part of the Silverlake development by Habitat First, a group of luxury holiday homes surrounded by the idyllic Dorset countryside. Ideal for staycations, the development centres around nature and exploring the outdoors.

AR first became involved with the development in designing an award-winning scheme contributing to their selection of homes to pick and build, and have gone on to design bespoke waterside property for private clients - the practice's speciality.

In this instance, the practice were approached to design a completely bespoke contemporary holiday home on their plot.

Sitting on a bend in the freshwater lake, the house will benefit from 180degrees of water frontage. The main living spaces open up to this defining feature, with brick fins stretching across the site to inform the main axes of the house. This defined clear outlooks for each space, and delineated landscape routes down to the lake ending at a private pontoon.

These axes continue up to the masterbed, first floor lounge space and roof terrace, maximising the house's exposure to the waterfront at all levels.

The site has a long way to go, but we can't wait to see the proposal become established amongst the Silverlake surroundings!
