The Team

AR Design Studio is an award-winning contemporary architectural practice, based in Winchester, Hampshire, specialising in elegant modern new homes, extensions, renovations and multi-plot developments.

Established 25 years ago by Andy Ramus, AR Design Studio is a modern architecture practice with a talented, young and ambitious team creating an exciting hub of contemporary architects. After spending four years working for several large scale practices in London on a wide variety of projects, Andy set up his practice in Winchester, Hampshire and Dorset.

Andy Ramus

Founder and Director

When not running AR Design Studio, Andy can be found sailing, surfing, snow-boarding or cycling – come rain or shine. It’s no accident he’s a double world champion sailor. He values friendship highly and finds pleasure in sharing good times, and is always surrounded by good friends.

A wanna-be super dad, he would do anything for his precious Jules and their son Finn.

With the AR team, Andy is a decisive boss, a competent leader, an encouraging mentor, a helpful colleague, a good, fun friend.

Tom Ford

Architect

I first joined AR Design Studio in 2013 after graduating from the University of Kent with 1st class honours. After a year with AR I went on to complete my Masters at the University of Liverpool. This work was nominated for the International Presidents Silver Medal award.

Working as a member of such a young and developing team is a fantastic opportunity. As a practice the enthusiasm and design heavy approach to projects shows as we are always discussing schemes and bouncing ideas, a great environment for me to learn and develop my skills.

I also love Lego, lots and lots of Lego.

Anna Rezin

Architectural Designer

I joined AR Design studio having completed my Master's degree at Manchester School of Architecture with the desire to pursue my passion for contemporary and design-specific residential architecture. I enjoy the challenge of producing intricate and specific details in order to create one-off homes.

Working with a creative, enthusiastic and dedicated team allows me to expand my knowledge and skills further, whether that's through design processes, detail design or softwares.

Outside of architecture, I love nothing more than spending time with friends and enjoying the outdoors, whether that be up in the mountains or down at the beach. Oh and I love music - so go to lots of gigs!

Jack Jefferys

Part 1 Architectural Assistant

I joined AR Design Studio in 2023 following the completion of my Undergraduate at Arts University Bournemouth. Within this, I discovered a deep rooted interest in contemporary design and intricate use of materiality throughout a range of different building typologies and projects.

The opportunity to work with such a caring and talented team – pushing their limits in creating bespoke, contemporary residential designs – is an incredible experience for an aspiring designer. The skills I am learning here are developing a strong foundation for the future of my career.

Outside the studio, I enjoy a mix of spending time with my friends around the country or inside playing the guitar with my dad.

Bobby Ivanov

Part 1 Architectural Assistant

I joined AR Design Studio in late 2024 following the completion of my undergraduate degree in Bournemouth. I have a strong passion for contemporary design and exploring the relationship between form and materiality, particularly within bespoke residential architecture. Working at AR Design Studio provides an incredible opportunity to contribute to innovative projects while refining my skills and building a solid foundation, resulting in continuous personal development.

Collaborating with such a talented and supportive team is both inspiring and rewarding. Each project presents new challenges that deepen my understanding and enthusiasm for design.

Outside the studio, I enjoy keeping active through fitness, travelling, and spending time with friends and family. My passion for design extends beyond work, shaping how I see and engage with the world around me.

Ciara Walsh

Part 1 Architectural Assistant

I joined AR Design Studio after graduating from Falmouth University in 2024. It was during my time at Falmouth that I developed a strong passion for sustainable building techniques and the vital role materials play in creating thoughtful, lasting designs. This interest continues to shape my approach to architecture as I strive to balance innovation with environmental responsibility.

I feel incredibly fortunate at AR to have the opportunity to work alongside such talented designers, where I can observe and participate in the design process. It's been an invaluable experience, helping me refine my skills while being inspired by the creativity around me.

Outside of architecture, I enjoy going to gigs of almost every genre you can imagine, spending time with my overweight cat and heading back to Cornwall whenever I get the chance.

Tician Turi

Part 1 Architectural Assistant

I joined AR Design Studio in 2024 after completing my Bachelor's Degree at the University of Portsmouth, where I developed a strong passion for exploring materiality and design simplicity in architecture. I’m particularly drawn to creating spaces with thoughtful material choices, focusing on the finer details that elevate a design. My interests in architectural representation, especially through rendering, have allowed me to communicate my ideas more effectively, making it one of my favorite aspects of the profession.

In my spare time, I enjoy traveling, which allows me to experience new cultures and architectural styles, and I also love to draw and paint as a way to express my creative thoughts.

Whenever possible, I challenge myself by entering architectural competitions to push my skills and expand my design thinking.

Abigail Collins

Office Manager and PA to Director

After gaining my Masters in International Politics at Manchester University, I fell into project assistant work in the construction industry. After some travelling, I discovered the world of Superyachts where I worked my way up over 5 years to manage the interior workings of a new build sailing yacht. Having moved back to dry land 3 years ago my passion for interior design coupled with my organisation and communication skills meant the role of Office Manager & PA at AR Design Studio was a perfect new adventure for me.

I enjoy the variety and pace of this exciting role and working within a team that is so creative. I thrive on the organisation necessary and the fact I can utilise my love of a good spreadsheet!
