Due to an expansion of its exciting portfolio, RIBA award-winning practice AR Design Studio is recruiting for:
- Part II Architectural Assistants
Based in Winchester (recently named “Best Place to Live in the UK”) AR Design Studio is an energetic and highly motivated architectural practice working on a diverse range of projects. Principally the practice is renowned for its focus on quality design and high-end residential schemes, yet has recently been recognised for its unique talent in the cultural and leisure sectors. The practice prides itself on working with great clients and exciting sites to create award-winning and innovative architecture.
This opportunity provides an exciting prospect to work in a design-led, award winning, social and fun practice, as well as the opportunity to work on ambitious projects such as Paragraph 79 schemes (revised from the NPPF’s old Paragraph 55) as well as further training in BIM and project management. Last year being nominated for the Grand Designs House of the Year Award, AJ Architecture Award, Manser Medal, George Clarke Medal, British Home Awards and winning the regional RIBA award, to name a few, shows the driven and innovative nature of the practice. We are therefore looking for skilled and experienced candidates eager to progress their careers in an environment where they can work as part of a motivated team and gain a great deal of responsibility.
Part II Candidates
The successful candidates will assist with an expanding project portfolio including one off houses, extensions, residential developments, master planning, hotels and commercial projects. The successful candidates must have excellent CAD and presentation skills and a passion for design. A strong comprehension of the RIBA Work Stages and good technical knowledge of construction, detailing and writing specifications is essential as well as experience with UK building regulations. Proficient English language skills are also a must and the ability to communicate well with clients and consultants is desirable. For Architects, site experience would be advantageous.
Computer skills required:
AutoCAD
SketchUp
A working knowledge of Revit is essential
Knowledge of Lumion – advantageous
Personal Qualities
Our studio is young and sociable, and require new staff to be happy to engage with this side of the practice. The candidate should be friendly and efficient at work, whilst being able to work independently and as part of a team. We often attend lectures and regularly run surf and sailing trips.
Salary will be dependent on experience and in line with RIBA guidelines. Interviews to commence immediately. No agencies please.
